Dr. Jon is a native of Greenville and is excited to be returning to his home town to practice pediatric dentistry! He grew up near Travelers Rest and completed a Bachelor’s of Science in Pre-Dentistry at Bob Jones University. During these years, he was very active in his community, volunteered weekly at Greenville Memorial Hospital, and children’s programs around town.
While in dental school at the Medical University of South Carolina, he was elected as president of the college of dental medicine governing body, the American Student Dental Association, and received the ASDA District 4 Mister Congeniality Award, given to one student among over 500 dental students in our region. Additionally, he was elected MUSC chapter president of the American Academy of Developmental Medicine and Dentistry, an organization devoted to supporting patients with intellectual and developmental disabilities and received the Dental Lifeline Network Outstanding Student Award upon graduation.
During dental school, he continued his volunteer work with children’s programs in Charleston and overseas, and his heart for children continued to grow. Upon graduation, Dr. Fryml moved to Dallas, Texas where he completed his Pediatric Dentistry Residency through Texas A&M College of Dentistry. He was trained in conscious sedation, hospital dentistry, IV Sedation dentistry, and growth and development of children of all ages. While training at Children’s Medical Center of Dallas and Texas Scottish Rite Hospital, he received advanced pediatric training for patients with medically complex health care needs and children with special needs. After completing his advanced training, he was excited to come back to South Carolina!!
Dr. Fryml is a board-eligible member of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry and is an active member of the American Dental Association, and the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry.
Dr. Jon has a heart to serve the underserved communities across the world and has been privileged to have taken multiple trips to South Africa, Peru, Ecuador, and most recently, the small coastal town of Omoa, Honduras.
His goal is to create a fun and positive experience for each child that walks through the doors of the practice. By overcoming a child’s fear, providing excellent dental care, and inviting parents to participate in the dental health of their child, he wants every kid to have great oral health and LOVE coming to the dentist!
When not practicing dentistry or hanging out with kids, Jon loves to get out in our beautiful upstate of South Carolina. He enjoys trail running, mountain biking, kayaking, and meeting new people along the way! If you see him walking downtown or hiking up a mountain, please stop and say hey!
